Multitude of Effects
Pioneer's traditional control layout allows for an easy transition to mixer with the DJM900NXS. The DJM-900 nexus, like other Pioneer mixers has a wide range of sound effects that DJs can use to create more unique mixes. To enhance user performance, the mixer now features three new Sound Color FX and two Beat Effects.
Sound Color FX – The DJM 900 nexus has Space, Dub Echo, Gate/Comp, Filter, Crush, and Noise. DJs can add audio effects to any song by simply turning the knobs.
X-Pad – A touch screen control panel that allows quick access to, control and manipulation of thirteen built-in beat effects. The X-Pad control allows the user to modify the parameters of each effect by touching it or sliding it. This will allow for more creativity and performance.
Sound Quality
The DJM-900 nexus is a mix of functionality and great sound quality. High quality components ensure the mixer produces high-quality audio output, even when connected to other components.
Pioneer has developed an onboard USB sound card that can simultaneously input and output audio from up to four (2) stereo sources via one USB port. The sound card can process all audio signals at 24-bit/96kHz resolution without affecting sound quality.
The settings utility tool allows you to adjust the mixer's output signal path for different purposes such as song recording, DJ play, or production. Smooth transfers between DJs can be made with the USB ports located on the top of the mixer.
Connectivity
The DJM-900 nexus can be connected directly to a Mac or laptop, increasing its functionality and convenience.
PRO DJ LINK- The mixer can link via an Ethernet (LAN), to Pioneer PRO DJ-LINK compatible CDJ 2000 and CDJ 900 players (with firmware version 4.01 or later 3). Pioneer's rekordbox (tm) software allows users quick access to beat locations and beat beat beats per minute (BPM). This allows for precise beat matching. The built-in quantize mode automatically corrects for Beat Effect timing errors, so effects can be matched perfectly.
TRAKTOR(tm), Functionality - The four decks (players in TRAKTOR) can be connected to the mixer via a USB connection. This allows for greater flexibility and control of the software. The mixer is also TRAKTOR SCRATCH 4 compatible for TRAKTOR.
SCRATCH PRO/DUO 2 (version 2.0 and higher) allows scratch control functionality with a time code disk5.
Time Code Output – The mixer's USB port can output time code signals for DVS software 6 when it is used with an analog record player or Pioneer CDJ player. DVS software is easy to use without complicated connections 7.
Feature Pack
High-performance channel faders – The slide mechanism supports fader knobs with two shafts made of metal for longevity and smooth operation. Furthermore, the new mechanism minimizes the impact of dust particles or moisture on the mixer's performance.
Indicators – The DJM 900 nexus has a "USB connector indicator" that displays the status of sound cards and PC/Mac communications, as well as a"USB audio in indicator" that displays audio inputs from a PC/Mac.
Industry's First MIDI signal output 8 - The DJM 900 nexus is the first digital musical instrument (MIDI) signal output that changes at beat by beat intervals. To control external devices, such as effectors and other effects, the mixer includes a "MIDI LFO" function.
The 3-Band Isolator/EQ Switching - Each channel is equipped with a 3-band EQ (+6dB -26dB), and a 3-band Isolator (+6dB -dB).
P-LOCK Fader Cap: Keeps the crossfader knobs (caps), and fader channel locked. This prevents them from physically sliding off during use.
