Description
Monitor Station is the perfect desktop monitoring and communications system to control your recording studio. The Monitor Station is based on the award-winning Central Station and provides all the necessary features for controlling your recording environment, including talkback, speaker switching and input source switching. It also has four high-powered headphone amplifiers that can be used to provide a very loud and clear sound.
Input switching
You can connect up to 3 input audio streams to the Monitor Station (TRS1, TRS2, and Aux/Phono), allowing you to switch between inputs and compare them. One application connects your computer's main outputs to TRS 1 inputs. A CD player's outputs are connected to Aux inputs on Monitor Station. You can then compare your mix to a commercial CD by pressing a button.
Speaker switching
The Monitor Station has three sets of speaker outputs. This allows you to test your mix on different speakers and take the guesswork out of how it will sound in real life.
Main and Cue Routing
Each of the stereo inputs (TRS1,TRS2, aux) can be routed to one or both of the two audio paths "main" or "cue by using The Monitor Station. You can route two signals to the Monitor Station (Main and cue) from each of the four headphone amplifiers. Send the click track and "main mix" to TRS 2 input, while the mix with click track is sent to TRS 1. The headphone amplifiers can be enabled to play either the main or cue mix. You will always hear what the main audio path feeds in the control room.
Total Communication
Communication during recording is essential. You can no longer shout at musicians while recording. To communicate with musicians, use the Monitor Station talkback system that includes an external microphone or onboad.
Personalize your Monitor Station
You can set up three functions on the Monitor Station and save them during power-up. This allows you to customize your recording system to suit your needs.
You can choose to have input selection set in "summing" mode (TRS1,TRS2, Aux/Phone, and Aux/Phone will be summed when they are engaged) or in "toggle mode" (TRS1,TRS2, Aux/Phono and Aux/Phono may only be selected one at time).
You can choose to have speaker selection work in either "all on" mode (speakers A, B, or C can all be engaged simultaneously), or in "toggle mode (speakers A, B, or C can only each be selected at once), or in "subwoofer mode (A andB can be selected while C can be chosen with either A or B).
Monitor Station's LED signal meters are also adjustable in three modes to suit different signal levels: +4dB, +10dB and +10dB.
Headphone amplifiers that "go up to 11"
PreSonus is known for making the best headphone amplifiers on the market. The four Monitor Station headphone amplifiers deliver 150 milliwatts each and can power any headphone at the loudest volume required for all members of the band including the drummer.
